Door Model Pet Door is designed to be installed in a 'People' Door.  It's one of the best selling models from Hale Pet Doors for a number of reasons: It's VERY easy to install on your own, it fits most doors 1/38" to 2" thick, it works with wood, metal, raised panel, hollow core, and even French doors, the design is self-framing and self-supporting and finally it's backed by an industry-leading 5-year manufacturer warranty (see below for details).

• Aluminum frame available in 4 colors
• Clear vinyl flaps offered in single or double options.  Double flap option provides additional insulation and protection from weather and is the recommended choice.
• Magnets and nylon weatherstrip around the edges of the flaps hold flaps in place and keeps out weather & bugs but are easy for pets of all sizes to use
• Locking cover provides security as it shock and impact resistant.  Secures with a steel pin lock (optional Secondary Exterior Cover for exterior or door).

Options:

• Flap Size: The Door Model is available in 12 standard sizes shown in the chart below. For detailed sizing instructions, please see the "Sizing Guide" tab at the top. 
• Flap Type: Our Door Model comes standard with double flaps for improved insulation and energy efficiency. In some situations (i.e. installing in an interior door) you may choose to install a single flap model.  If you do choose a single flap, it will be installed on the exterior frame of your pet door.
• Frame Color:  Arizona Beige -- hard-coat paint, looks like coffee with a couple of creamers added.  Brushed Aluminum -- anodized metal, satin nickel color, looks like the bottom of a Coke can.  Dark Bronze -- anodized metal, chocolate brown,  looks almost black in dimmer light.  White -- white hard coat paint
• Door Thickness: Most doors are between 1 3/8" and 2" thick and our door model is designed to easily fit these doors. If your door is thicker than this, please order our Wall Model. If your door is between 5/8" and 1 3/8", you can still order our standard door but the door will need to be modified. You can order an optional buildout to add to your installation that will space the door frames the correct distance apart. Please add 10% to the cost of the door for a buildout. 
• Security Cover Load Direction: The security cover comes standard on our models as an interior top-load version. On occasion, there will be an obstruction above the pet door that prevents the security cover from being raised up far enough to remove. In those instances, we provide an optional side load model with your choice of left or right side slide (Load direction is determined when looking at the door).
• Secondary Exterior Cover (optional): Choose this option if you would like a second cover on the exterior of your door pet door. This cover does not come with a pinlock unless purchased separately.  NOTE: Choosing this option makes your door pet door a "custom" pet door for return policy purposes and entitles you to 50% credit towards the purchase of a new dog door should you need to return your pet door for any reason.
• Rain Cap: The raincap is a Free option and part of Hale Pet Door's water containment and diversion system to help prevent moisture intrusion into your pet door.  This awning like attachment hooks onto the top edge of the outside frame and helps protect from water intrusion into the pet door itself and therefore into your house.  The rain caps are available in our four standard frame colors and will be supplied to match the exterior pet door frame.
• Training Flap:  The training flap is made of a similar material to our regular flap but it has no strikes and has been vertically slashed several times to make it very easy to push through.  It does not, however, provide the energy efficiency of our regular flap and should only be used until your pet is used to using the door.
